With the evolution of Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG911) and the creation of FirstNet®, we have an opportunity to work together in ways previously unimaginable to improve response capabilities. In this session, we will discuss how FirstNet can help NG911 work better. Attendees will learn about NG911 attributes and capabilities and how those capabilities will serve public safety for decades in support of evolving wireless and wireline communications capabilities, such as 5G. Attendees also will learn how NG911 can help agencies better use their personnel to meet first responders when and where they need to – under ever-changing conditions and circumstances.
Learning Objectives:
1. Attendees will first receive foundational knowledge on the evolution of Next Generation 911 technology (past, present, future) and how it can be applied thru a 911 call flow.
2. Attendees will learn more about IoT devices, the potential features and benefits provided to NextGen 9-1-1 and possible impacts to ECC operations.
3. Attendees can apply their learnings during a presentation of interactive and non-interactive IoT use cases e.g., Next Generation-Advanced Automatic Crash Notification and Next Gen 911 Supplemental Data.
