Streaming web video and recorded media offer PSAP’s the ability to dispatch resources more accurately. Video not only provides magnitude of the event, but offers dispatchers insight as to precise location. A video or a picture of an injury forwarded to a trained EMT via MDT or smart phone assists with prearrival preparation. These technologies leverage existing communication technologies available on phones and networks today. This moderated panel discussion will focus on use cases, best practices, and technology. The discussion should lead to how these fits into industry practice and standards.
Learning Objectives:
Attendees will learn the role multimedia such as pictures and streaming video play in enhanced situational awareness. The purpose is to make the technology seem more accessible and seamless operationally.
Technical attendees will learn implementation details and technology details specific to networking and security, CJIS compliance, and storage and archival. OTT and integrated approaches will be discussed so that PSAP's can identify the most effective deployment scenarios.
Attendees will understand the impacts and benefit of the technologies via real examples and use cases. These examples will help to inform SOP's and call flows to properly manage the routing of multimedia data and integration into standard practice.
