This interactive session will provide leaders a brief overview of the power of peer support and how it can organically optimize working conditions for everyone in the communications center. Attendees will participate in a simple team-building exercise that will challenge them to think differently about peer support. This session will give leaders a new tool to check-in on their employees and change the culture in their centers.
Learning Objectives:
1. Challenge leaders to think differently about peer support.
There is a misconception that all peer support must be done as part of a structured system. This session will demonstrate that peer support is also a mindset that can be organically created.
2. Give leaders a new tool to check-in on their employees.
This session will give leaders a couple of new tools to consider using that will better help them measure the individual wellness of employees and the collective culture in their centers.
3. Change the culture in their centers.
Strategically deploying these new tools will help employees look at working in 911 through a different lens, thereby changing culture.
