Writing grants and other proposals is both an art and a science. This session will address the "science" aspects of the writing process: How to research funders, understanding what funders want and don't want, ensuring 100% requirements compliance, and methods to organize grants and other proposals into logical documents. The underlying principle, applicable across all types of writing, will be the elements of writing in plain language.
Learning Objectives:
Participants will gain a clear understanding of the expectations grant funders have when reviewing grant proposals and awarding funds.
After attending this session, participants will understand why plain language and adherence to a structure are critical to writing a successful grant proposal.
Following this session, participants will understand why 100% compliance is needed, and why funders are so particular about who and what they fund.
