Director, Operation Services Bureau
Scottsdale Police Department
Robert “Bo” Bokinsky currently serves as a Director for the Scottsdale Police Department with responsibility over three (3) distinct areas – Emergency Communications Center, Radio Technology, and the Real Time Crime Center. Bo has 44 years of law enforcement experience in three states - Maryland, Iowa, and Arizona - and has enjoyed witnessing the professionalization of Public Safety Communications and its technological growth. His first exposure to the Communications room was in 1985 during a three-year assignment as a newly promoted Sergeant. Since then, Bo has served in many roles up to and including Chief of Police. During his career he has played a role in a considerable number of communications projects. Examples include transitions from analog to digital, selection and implementation of CAD systems, narrow banding, moving from VHF to 800 MHz, and the implementation of Statewide Interoperability. He has been blessed with years of Special Events experience, many with exceptionally large crowds and national exposure. However, nothing compares to the rowdy collection at the WM Phoenix Open. An estimated 1.4 million people on the TPC Scottsdale Golf Course, the same week as the NFL Super Bowl and the carnival of parties and entertainment that follow it… all happening within the Phoenix Metro. Perhaps the greatest opportunity of a career to learn how to bring together public safety, the NFL, the PGA, and all technology partners to ensure every stakeholder meets their individual goals while guaranteeing the event as a whole is a great success.
