Communications Manager Lake Worth Police Department
On September 19, 2021, the worst fears of a Lake Worth community became reality when a military jet crashed into a residential neighborhood. Immediately following the crash, the Lake Worth Police Department's Communication Center experienced a 213% increase in call volume with only one telecommunicator on duty. The emergency response was massive, and included hundreds of responders from every level of government. In this presentation, attendees will learn how the small urban community of Lake Worth overcame an unavoidable disaster and became a stronger, better prepared and more resilient communications center.
