Active shooter situations have become more and more common and the locations of these incidents are not isolated to the large cities. This course will review the active shooter incident that took place at the Greenwood Park Mall in Greenwood, Indiana on July 17, 2022. We will review what went well and what lessons were learned. This course will help determine if your ECC is ready for an active shooter incident and what factors to consider when developing a plan.

Learning Objectives:

How to develop and cultivate a culture of critical thinking within the ECC staff through training and employee development.
We will learn the importance of the ECC being a part of developing policies and procedures for the response to large scale incidents.
How do we handle the aftermath? The importance of making sure that ECC staff is involved with debriefings and after action reviews and helping to determine the lessons learned.
