Robbie is a 15-year public safety communication veteran and has worked in almost every role within the center, from the front line to Director. She began her career in the Eddy County Sheriff's Office, and after consolidation, became a TAC, CTO, First Line Supervisor, and Training Coordinator.
For the last three years at the Regional Emergency Dispatch Authority (REDA), Robbie served as the Executive Director. After a brief stint as a correctional officer, Robbie accepted a position as the Training & Development Coordinator for the Tarrant County 9-1-1 District (Fort Worth, Texas) which provides support services, (training being one of them) to 33 Emergency Communication Centers (ECCs) in Tarrant County year-round. Most recently, Robbie has taken a position as the Deputy Director of the Cobb County Department of Emergency Communications (DEC) in Marietta, GA. She is the Deputy Director of Administration and Education and oversees Employee Relations, Community Relations, Records, Compliance & Standards, and Training Units. She serves in this position under the direction and in support of Director Melissa Alterio.
Robbie serves as a member of the APCO Standards Development Committee, Training Sub-Committee, and Adjunct Instructor. She has presented in the Career Center at the national conference since 2017 and previously presented on both panels and in individual educational sessions. She has previously served as 2nd VP for both New Mexico and Texas APCO Chapters, and in 2021 was the Educational Sessions Chair for the Texas Public Safety Conference (APCO/NENA). Currently, she has been appointed as the Membership Chair for the Georgia APCO Chapter for 2022 - 2023. Robbie completed her Certified Public Safety Executive (CPE) in 2019 and her Registered Public-Safety Leader (RPL) in 2022.
She lives with her husband, Commander James McCormick (Retired), and her black cat Puddin'. She loves to read, follow politics, play piano, and watch football and crime shows. She currently spends her weekends and downtime figuring out how to navigate the terrain of north central Georgia.
