Patrice Coleman is passionate about establishing a solid foundation for trainees and promoting forward-thinking concepts for training. She promotes learning with a twist to training. With 22 years of public-safety experience at Nashville’s Department of Emergency Communications, she serves as the agency’s Training and Quality Assurance Manager. She has a background in journalism studies, with a Bachelor of Science in Business and an MBA, along with the designations of RPL, ENP, and CMCP (Class 23). Patrice has provided leadership during Nashville disaster events, including the Nashville Flood of 2010, March Tornado 2020, Nashville Civil Unrest 2020, and the Nashville Christmas Bombing. Additionally, she serves as an Emergency Services Coordinator (ESC) for her agency and a CIT trainer for dispatchers, as well as a departmental representative on Nashville’s Office of Family Safety Strangulation Response Committee. Patrice is a member of the Association of Public Safety Communications Officials (APCO) and serves on the Editorial and ProCHRT Committees. She is also a member of the National Emergency Number Association (NENA) and participates in the PSAPOPS Suicide Prevention Workgroup.
Moving through life with a greater purpose in mind, Patrice volunteers with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) as a Tennessee Board Member and Secretary, along with being the Chairperson of AFSP’s Education Committee.
