Mike Sunseri was named Deputy Executive Director of the Kentucky Office of Homeland Security (KOHS) in May 2016. On January 2017, he was also appointed Administrator of the Kentucky 911 Services Board.
Sunseri previously worked for 20 years as a legislative staffer for the Kentucky General Assembly. During his tenure with the Legislative Research Commission, Sunseri spent three years as the communications director for the Senate Minority Leadership Office, followed by 17 years in the non-partisan Public Information Office—the final seven years as the Deputy PIO.
While working for the legislature, Sunseri was very active in the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL), a non-partisan organization serving both state legislators and legislative staff. Sunseri held several leadership positions within NCSL, including chair of the Legislative Information and Communications Staff Section and a member of the NCSL Executive Committee.
