Charles V. Bryson provides technical support for 700 and 800 MHz land mobile public safety communications systems as well as governments requiring assistance with projects related to homeland security and communications strategic planning. Mr. Bryson has over 50 years of experience in public safety, telecommunications, and higher education.
Currently, he serves as Chairman of Regional Planning Committee Twenty which includes the Nation’s Capital, Maryland, and the Northern Virginia counties of the Commonwealth of Virginia. He also serves as Chairman of the National Regional Planning Council which works to support all 110 Regional Planning Committees established by the FCC.
Selected Professional Experience
• State of Maryland – Serves a Technical Advisor for the Department of Information Technology. Assisted in State review of proposals for a statewide 700 MHz voice land mobile radio system. Supporting implementation of Maryland FiRST system and crafted statewide 700 MHz channel plan. He also led the reviews related to over 150 RF sites employing 700 MHz P25 Phase 2 technology. As a related project, he developed several broadband filings related to State Waiver for 700 MHz public safety broadband. Led project leading to FCC Petition for Rulemaking to provide 700 MHz air-to-ground channels which were granted by the Commission in FCC 14-172.
• Prince George’s County, MD – Served as Project Manager to develop and oversee the implementation of a multi-cell P-25 700 MHz land mobile radio communications system utilizing ASTRO25 TDMA technology.
• Regional Planning Committees 20, 28, and 33 – Supported the development of 700 MHz Plans for Regions 20 and 28. Revised Region 33 700 MHz Plan to conform to FCC’s 2nd Report & Order.
